Terms of Use

Last updated September 16, 2026

Public-safety purpose

SeenSafe is intended to help people review public or authorized missing-person and wanted-person information and route potentially useful sightings or tips to the appropriate organization or law-enforcement agency.

Do not approach or detain

Do not approach, follow, confront, threaten, or attempt to detain a person because they resemble a photograph or public notice. In an emergency or immediate danger, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

No identity confirmation

SeenSafe does not establish that a person is missing, wanted, or otherwise the person shown in a public record. A resemblance or possible match must be verified by the organization or agency responsible for the case.

Source records

Public case information may change, be corrected, or be removed by its source. The official source record controls when SeenSafe information differs from an agency's current record.

Responsible use

Do not use SeenSafe to harass, stalk, discriminate against, publicly accuse, or identify unrelated people. Do not submit knowingly false information or use the service for a purpose unrelated to its public-safety mission.

Prototype status

SeenSafe is currently a prototype. Features, data sources, availability, and these terms may change as the service is developed and authorized integrations are added.
